HAPPY YEAR OF THE TIGER

Dear Everyone
Just want to wish you all a happy Year of the TIGER. I am so proud of all the athletes that participated in Vancouver's Winter Olympics. My eyes have been glued to the tv set the past few days. I am so amazed by each of their commitment to excellence, their dedication and their courage in following their dreams. Even after endless hours and days of training, there is still that unexpected element and circumstance which challenges them as they take their turn to perform. I can't imagine how focused they have to be in order to override all distractions, obstacles and the unexpected, in order to give their best in that very short window of time. I am learning so much from them.
I am also proud of the increasing presence of the Asian athletes. It seemed to me this time, the number has grown from last Winter Olympics. What a wonderful picture! Only reaffirms to me that there is no boundary to excellence.
I hope this new picture will also be reflected in the entertainment industry in the States.
Wishing you all a happy healthy and magical Year of the TIGER and a toast to all of our dreams come true.

Hi Everyone
Happy 2010.
Just want to update everyone my recent projects in January and February of 2010.
I shot a 2nd episode of "Flash Forward" in January which should air in March of 2010. Had the wonderful opportunity of working with Joseph Fiennes, Christine Woods, Courtney B. Vance and Barry Shabaka Henley. In February, I shot an episode of NCIS, Los Angeles. Had the great opportunity to work with Chris O' Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt, Daniela Rush and Peter Cambor. All in all, I have to say I am very blessed. Learned a lot.
Yesterday, I went to see the opening of "Beware of Cupid". A beautiful play put together by my students: Julia Cho, Benjamin Kim, Jason Rogel, Lynnette Li, Jared Asato and Sandy Yu. I am so proud of them. I will be back many times before they close. If any of you are in Los Angeles, please check out this amazing performance:

Dear All
It's been a long while since I last blogged. Yes, busy with work and busy with life. But it's all good. I have taken up teaching while I am not acting and am enjoying it a lot Sharing what I have learned over the years transitioning from Hong Kong to the States, bridging culture and language. After all these years, I am finally coming to my own, in terms of beginning to grasp what this performance art form is all about. Whether it's dance, acting or directing, you can arrive at a moment in so many different ways, it's all about discovery and what works - for you and of course, does it serve the bigger picture, the story. Having said that, this is also an art form that is forever changing and evolving - not that different from life, huh?! Perhaps that's why, after so many years, I am still as excited as when I learn my first steps in ballet...
A new year is awaiting in the wings, I wish you all a beautiful and healthy holiday ahead.
