This project took awhile to get out due to our editor work on another youtube project that was his priority. But here it is folks. Check out Tommy's Joker. Better than Heath Ledger right?
This was a freestyle shoot. I think it turned out good, personally. I'm actually hoping to do more of these shorts with the same character. If you do see any inconsistencies, its because everything was basically thrown in at the last moment. So, I apologize for that. But here it is, enjoy...
In 2007, we made a short called Ninja vs Pirates for the Anime Expo in Long Beach. It was to promote the live stage performance of...well...Ninja vs Pirates xD. We film only the teaser and stated that if we ever hit 100,000 views, we would finish it. Well, we unexpectedly received over 200,000 hits and we were planning on filming the rest of it either way. But unfortunately, the car that our costumes were in, was stolen, and we lost motivation to restart the whole project.
Years later (now), we decided to revamp our youtube channel and one of the videos we decided to reshoot was in fact, Ninja vs Pirates.
Ever since the team lost the privilege of using a martial arts gym, it was hard for us to get together and work, train, and film. But for the past couple of months, we've been meeting once a week and agreed that we need to get back into business. Our goal is to inspire everyone to achieve their own goal. We want to show through example, thus creating a new channel on youtube. Check out the latest video and please subscribe for new videos that will be released every week.
Robbie met this guy name Christo Garcia who was working on a treatment for a tv show. They got together and started pushing it towards the filming stage. He'd asked me to help handle the choreo and of course I didn't turn him down. I have to say the shoot was a lil...strange...haha but the trailer and fight came out better than I'd expected.
Hey Malay! I haven't been on AnD for quite some time and just realized I didn't get to reply to your last message! My apologies bro!!
I'm doing alright thanks. Keeping busy, but wish I could be training more often than I currently am. Were you part of the touring group with DY, Tommy, and co.? You guys wrapped up in my hometown Dublin, right?
Awesome clips!...I always wished I could bring myself to learn martial arts...unfortunately, I'm somewhat accident prone and lack the patience..lol! Have a good weekend!
