This Taiping-born lass acquired her Canadian accent while growing up in the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver and attending university in Toronto. Back in multi-cultural Malaysia, she had to re-hone her basic skills in Bahasa, to add to her repertoire of Mandarin, French and Japanese languages.
A celebrated host and a real pro in front of the camera, Sarah’s presence exudes sublime confidence with a brilliant wit. She has been outstanding in hosting Astro Hitz Radar, the first music talk show on the newly branded music channel Astro Hitz. Sarah’s fun-loving and sporting nature resonates very well with her audience. Her quirks and witticisms will sure get you laughing on the couch, making it a sheer joy to watch.
On reality programmes, Sarah judiciously leverages the chances of success for her participants. As evident in the Ultimate Prom Nite event, she perspicaciously steered the nationwide search for the inter-college prom’s King and Queen, and the final award of RM 10 000 Grand Prize to each winner. In “Maybelline’s Simply Fabulous” which was also the network’s first online reality show, she conferred ten girls the opportunity to kick start their dreams by winning front row tickets to New York Fashion Week. Such a positive role model can only inspire her contestants to empower themselves in these reality shows.
Sarah proves her larger-than-life personality in the ability to work up a crowd of thousands. She was co-host for the 2010 Shout! Awards, Malaysia’s first urban award show that recognizes the best in film/TV/radio/music. She has also hosted big parties and concerts such as the Hennessy Artistry KL where international artists from East and West, like Fatman Scoop, Ying Yang Twins, Kardinall Offishall, Da Mouth among others, performed on the same stage. More recently, she emcee’d Astro Hitz’s first ever private K-POP Hitz TV Recording with G-NA, 4Minute, and B2ST, all Korean’s Cube Entertainment artists. Sarah is glad to play a role in the inevitable K-POP invasion.
Without any question, Sarah has successfully taken the entertainment industry by storm, from television to radio airwaves. Her sexy, sultry voice is now distinctively recognized as Hitz.FM’s station voice. In time to come, you may be hearing about Sarah’s very own radio show!
In addition to radio and TV mass media entertainment, Sarah has quickly embraced the world of new media. Progressing from online programmes to mobile content, innovative projects in the new media has expanded her the international recognition and exposure. Thanks to early beginnings on Media Prima’s online channel Gua.com.my, her role play as The Gua Centre’s sexy weather girl Fanny Golightly, and her hosting Randommania, she continually attracts new fans and a loyal following.
Indeed, Sarah’s cameos and appearances in commercials are hot topics of social discussion. Her cameo as "Miss Chic-Kut-Teh" in award-winning director Liew Seng Tat's short film 'Halal' for 15Malaysia also caught the attention of many. Being featured in Malaysian rapper Joe Flizzow's music video "Do It, Duit", was an appearance that was duly noted by blogs everywhere. While her latest cast as “Ah Moi” in MYeG’s Internet Ah Moi commercial was so popular in the newspapers, it was even made into a comic strip. Other local commercials are those made for Hong Leong Bank, Celcom Euro 2008, Cadbury Soft Centres, and Whisper; and commercials made overseas are: Tic Tac, Standard Chartered, McCafe, Schroders, Adidas FIFA World Cup, Kraft Pourables and Budweiser Camp Bud.
Being a multi-faceted artist, Sarah lends her name and expertise to various judging panels, passion and charity events. Sarah has developed a great relationship with brands like Nike Malaysia, being considered as one of their Non-Athlete Influencers; and skincare/make-up giants Shu Uemura as one of Malaysia’s 7th Heaven faces. Devoted to her passion projects, a recent one was the AIDS Awareness: Be the Message campaign. She and other celebrities were involved in a photo-shoot which conveyed a perceptive personal message to the public regarding AIDS, which was later to be sold as calendars in various outlets.
